The Elegant Egg Cup is a unique tabletop and gift shop on Manhattan's Upper East Side; located in a charming townhouse just across from the venerable Carlyle hotel. The Elegant Egg Cup is a one-stop shop for all of a person's entertaining needs including gifts for the perfect host(ess).

We are a tabletop specialty store that strives to show our customers how to mix beautiful heirloom pieces with their own modern things to create a personalized look. Even entertaining can be personal!

We carry tableware from the 1850’s to the 1950’s, new china, crystal and flatware from the leading manufacturers through out the world, as well as an extensive collection of table linens. Our concept is to show our customers how to create their own unique tabletop style by combining the old with new, pattern on pattern, or just introducing some additional colors for a fresh look. Whether that means incorporating seldom used bridal china, pieces inherited from dear relatives, or just a set of white plates from Crate & Barrel, it can all be combined to create a great new look. While part of our collection is "old" and in many cases may be considered antique, none of the clichés associated with these types of shops apply. The shop is bright, uncluttered, and not intimidating.

Hand molded bees wax candles, disposable place mats and napkins as well as a full line of unique gifts and gift baskets incorporating our china & linens make us a one stop shop for all one's entertaining and gifts giving needs. We also offer bridal registry as well as full tabletop design service with in home consultation always available.
